Great conducted tour today. So small a price to pay. I wonder if all the students appreciate the history of this building they work in ???

Had a wonderful visit here today! Called ahead as we wanted to stop on our way home, but we were towing our caravan - very kind man on the gate radioed down to check there was plenty of space for us to park when we arrived and security met us in the car park to make sure we could park where we would be able to get out again, can't fault them! Had a lovely wander around the grounds and gardens with our dogs and a lovely lunch in the cafe which was all homemade. All for £6 each, really impressed!!

Beautifully laid out and loads to discover. Favourite was the bonfire, the ancient chestnuts and secret garden, oh and the stunning reflections in the moat!

I had not realised that this was an international school of a Canadian university which is the reason why only conducted parties allowed round the house. We enjoyed the tour which was lead by a guy who had excellent communication skills and a sence of humour. His pitch was just right, he was interesting but did not try to overload you with information. We enjoyed the visit and had a meal in the cafe.

August Bank Holiday is the time of the Medieval Festival. I've been for the last 9 years now, and still look forward to it every year. I've seen the battle re-inactments many times, so for me it's more about a chilled out day with friends, lots of eating, drinking and perusing the many stalls selling all kinds of weird and wonderful things. Check out the hats. I rest my case. 😁
