We go to the Crown and anchor every year over five days with Shannon the ancient Wheaten Terrier, usually for the airshow but sadly it was not on this time, the staff were, as ever, charming and special thanks to Tiago, Kieran, Charlie the lovely Esther, Honor, and Katerina. Great food under the current challenging times, we will be back next airbourne week. You people are special.

Visited using the Eat out to help out deal. Arrived to find a really well organised service with everything thought of, fabulous staff with a special mention to Roland and Charlie nothing was too much for them and they were really friendly. The food was lovely very tasty, fantastic portion size and great value. Great choice if drinks. Clean and tidy and very busy which is always a good sign. We will definitely visit again!!

We have recently enjoyed 2 evenings at The Crown and Anchor. We booked for one night and then enjoyed it so much that we booked for the following night too.
Across the two nights we had the Lasagne, Fish, Burger, Tempura Asparagus, Halloumi, Quiche and Chicken Wings. Everyone enjoyed each of these dishes.
Mostly we wanted to praise the staff on duty both nights. Understandably it was busy both nights during the Eat Out to Help Out scheme but the staff were all excellent and very friendly. Each staff member was great with our 18 month old son. Even on a busy night there was always time for a smile, a wave or a high five which was great to see!

We attempted to get a table here during the 'Eat Out, Help Out' scheme. Although they were unable to accommodate us, the man on the door was very friendly, even advising an alternate pub.
We returned the next day for a couple of drinks and this level of service continued. Friendly staff, fresh beer, decent prices, well recommended. Hopefully we will be able to visit for food sometime in the future.

Dropped in on the pub during a holiday in eastbourne. We were greeted by very efficient staff at the door and made to feel super safe as all customers are shown to socially distanced tables. The drinks were a good price and the atmosphere is warm and friendly , nice place for an evening drink

Had a weekend in Eastbourne and the Crown & Anchor was near our hotel, our visit was in August 2020 and the set up for social distancing was extremely well organised, the staff were very well briefed and despite the unusual circumstances they made the visit a pleasurable one. We returned again the second day and will definitely visit when next in town.

From the controlled entrance, one way system, socially distanced tables and perspex screened off bar, I've not yet seen a pub more adapted to thrive post covid. Good choice of beers, sky sports on the tv and friendly staff.

Made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived, without pre-booking. Good choice of food. Very pleasant staff, good portions of properly cooked food. Would revisit if in Eastbourne.
