Visited this pub on Monday 10th for a dinner with my wife. I honestly can't say anything bad about this place, good food, good drinks, friendly staff, covid friendly and just felt soo welcome. Slightly long wait time for food but considering how busy it was still deserves 5 stars.

We were greeted at the door, and gave our details, pub is Covid compliant, payment by card.
There is an app that can be downloaded, to order food and drink from, which we did on our second visit.
We sat outside in the shade and had the fish and chips which was very good.
Have no hesitation in recommending the crown and anchor.

For the second year running we made this pub our regular go to for evening meals whilst on holiday in Eastbourne. The food is absolutely delicious. We're a couple consisting of one meat eater and one vegan, and we both love it. There's always several vegan choices for me, including starters and I think desserts, although we're not dessert people. My husband tried several meat dishes, loving them all, as I did too for my vegan meals. The staff are very professional and helpful, a special shout out to Cara and Esther who served us two days running, they were great. One day the kitchen was particularly busy so there was a delay, but we were notified of this and kept informed so it wasn't a problem. The ambience is homely/casual with a small courtyard out back in good weather, and also one out front if you want to people watch. There's also seating in a balcony upstairs. Love this place, and we'll definitely be back.

We were greeted at the door and talked through current procedures in a very friendly and efficient way, then shown to a table of our choice.
The service was wonderful throughout, Kieron and the other members of staff were so friendly.
The food was superb. The best we have had in a Green King pub. The prawns were a perfect dish. The lamb shank with a great selection of vegetables, including creamed leeks was wonderful. A huge thank you to everyone for a lovely meal and friendly and efficient service, we will certainly come back again!

I visited with a friend today for the first time & was impressed with the staff. When we arrived there was a gentleman at the entrance. All outside tables were occupied & he took our details, asked us to sanitise our hands & then found us a table inside & made sure it was clean. My friend & I didn’t eat here so I cannot comment on the food, but just sitting & enjoying a drink was a nice relaxed experience. The interior is clean & smart. The outside has a lovely floral display which drew our attention to the pub as we were walking past across the road. We were well attended to. At least a couple of members of staff came over & asked if we would like further drinks as we finished so we were well attended to. Friendly attentive staff, nice atmosphere. My first visit & I shall return. Thank you.

A great pub, coping very well with the Covid distancing regulations. There’s a one way system in operation, with staff at the entrance door to take contact details and to enforce the use of hand sanitiser. The pool table has been removed to provide extra seating at a safe distance. The beer is good (Old Speckled Hen and Harvey’s Sussex Best were on when I visited).

We love it here and come whenever we’re in Eastbourne. Their COVID precautions are great, one way system, track and trace, app for ordering if required, all staff in masks or visors and screens at the bar. Lovely food on both visits as always! The garlic mushrooms and halloumi sticks are amazing!! Thank you... see you soon!
