Birling Gap is the perfect starting point to view these famous chalk cliffs. There is a carpark, National Trust display and store, toilets and a cafe. There are also stairs to the shingle beach where there are excellent views of chalk cliffs in both directions. From the carpark there are paths leading east to the old lighthouse and just beyond that are lovely views of the red and white Beachy Head lighthouse. Buses also serve these localities.

If you like history and want to view the castle on the inside, then this is for you.
You can walk past the outside of the castle close up and there are a few nice walks locally.
Inside the castle there are a few bits to look at and you can have a radio to listen to facts/history. You can't spend much time here as there isn't a great deal to look at or do.
