When you walk into the hotel you 8magine it’s going to be a lovely stay. Unfortunately that is not the case. The hotel needs a thorough overhaul. We found the decor needed refurbishing. The lifts were antiquated. The staff
are very friendly, nothing is too much for them. Breakfast was a big disappointment. No fried eggs and the scrambled, because left under a light it was like rubber. I believe the orange juice was concentrated. If you did not have dinner on your stay you could use the restaurant. For a 3 course it was £22.00 which I found a bit steep for the choices. Typical choices: 2 quarter size breadcrumbed Camberbet with cranberry jam. (Teaspoon size) fish and chips(not sure what fish) chips tasted baked. Cherry pie. The pastry was awful and skimped on custard. Rooms are big but need decorating and so do the bathrooms. Beds are hard. No air conditioning just a fan. They do have entertainment and it sounded good. A lot of tribute bands. Don’t think will be going back. This hotel is no relation to the Burlington in Worthing.

The staff are so friendly and treat each person with respect and as individuals giving the personal touch to everyone, the food was really good, the breakfast had plenty of choice, and evening meals were amazing with right amount of choice enabling fast and great food, the rooms are a bit dated and could do with a refresh, although i found the bed a bit hard for my liking it didn't stop me from sleeping, no usb ports or plug points beside the bed, the staff are the real stars of the Hotel and a real credit to the Hotel, i look forward to using the Hotel again soon

From arrival everything was straight toward reception staff very friendly, first come first served parking at the rear for £6 a day.
The room was a little tired looking in places, the carpet wasnt too clean hairgrip on.floor dust in corners and someones vitamin tablets on the bedside table all things we dealt with ourselves but should have been cleaned prior. The bed was comfortable and very clean with clean towels.
The upkeep on a place this size and age must have its challenges and think some understanding on reviews due to this wouldn't hurt. Though this doesn't make up for unclean areas in bedrooms.
The view was amazing great sunrises and appreciated the room fan in a heatwave.
Breakfast was buffet style ond continental or cooked so choices for everyone. Room dated bur tables and crockery were clean. Very organised and restaurant staff attentive and chatty.
Bar staff great banter amongst staff and the public really nice ladies. The evening entertainment lady singer was brilliant and sung a variety of tunes spanning different eras to suit different ages of folk.cleaners friendly too.
Well situated for the pier, the shops, open top bus tour, the beach, band stand music events.
Would we return ... yes (hopefully to a cleaner room as that was disappointing on a much needed break and 1st visit) but to have a whole team of staff chatty and.friendly is an asset to the place they made everyone feel welcome and nothing too much trouble so that and a clean bed would make us return again one day.

My partner and I have just returned home from a weekend at The Burlington Hotel. At first glance on arrival yes, the facade is a bit shabby with peeling paint etc. However the lobby and bar are nice. All the staff on reception and at the bars were very friendly and efficient. The lifts are ancient but who cares? You don't go away to inspect the lifts! Our room (a superior double with sea view) was roomy. A large double bed (king size) with crisp white linen and good towels. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Tea, coffee, water and hot chocolate provided. Great view. Again yes, the window frames are shabby but with it being such a huge building the cost of upgrading these would cost tens of thousands alone. We ate out so I can't comment on the breakfast. The price of the rooms are excellent and we were more than happy with our stay. Great location, clean room and communal areas, great staff. A bit of flaking paint never hurt anyone. If you want ultra modern with upvc windows then pay more and choose an alternative!

We’ve had a four night stay with Caledonian coach trips. The staff were lovely especially Sam the bar manager and her assistants. The food was good a lot of choices at evening meal, but not at breakfast only scrambled eggs no fried or poached. The evening entertainment was disappointing only on for two nights and no bingo. But if you only want a quiet couple of days it’s a nice hotel.

Honestly couldn’t fault the hotel, well positioned, rooms clean, good breakfast and superb sea view. Yes it’s dated but for us it was a great nights sleep and base for our days in Eastbourne

Though the room was clean and the bed was comfortable enough to sleep in. The front outside of the hotel and the inside of the hotel did not look the same as the pictures. Which I've also noticed someone said the same below. We had a double or superior sea view room. The decor and furniture look so outdated, even by the reception area. The walls and its paint look old and dry. The lift is so scary and old. Even the use of fans and plug heaters is so outdated although not the worst. The bathroom floor looks like council flat floors. The whole hotel looks in need need of TLC. Its just not what I was expecting from what I saw in the pics. I can tell many of the area hotels have an outdated look. However, You can have still have a hotel with a traditional look with updates hotel facilities and better condition walls. On the other hand staff were friendly. And the location was great, close to everything, which made up for where the hotel was lacking.
