I stayed with my sister in room 343 and my sister in law in room 342. From when we arrived on Monday 28th November to Friday 2nd December we had no heating or hot water. On complaining to the manager I was told they had a problem with both but it was being rectified.
Also told by Wednesday everything was sorted and the radiators in our room had been checked.
Never had hot water or heating all the time we were staying there.
Needless to say I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. But must say our room was clean and the staff were lovely.

We stayed for 2 nights in a sea view room on the 1st floor room 116 !! And what a view it was !! The building has so much character the sash windows the old staircase the squeaky floors ( they weren’t too bad) So if you’re expecting a modern hotel this is not for you!!
Our room was massive, it had a bath and a shower and was spotless
The room was immaculately clean and had everything we needed.
I paid £75 a night and I can honestly say what a bargain !!
The staff were helpful and happy at all times!
The breakfast again quite a bit of choice, pastries , yoghurts , fruits the buffet cooked breakfast again always plenty of choice and always hot.
If you want the ritz , go pay the prices !!
I have actually stayed in a well known chain for a special birthday which was £200 a night and to be honest the Burlington was a lot better at less then half the price!
It is close to the pier the town and lots of different independent shops.
My parents had another room 113 and again they had no complaints whatsoever!
I think some of the reviews on here do not justify how lovely this hotel is! Our room was massive, clean, had added extras (hairdryer, fan, extra pillows, iron and ironing board)
The only minor thing I would say is the heating in the room one radiator that was always like warm and the pillows weren’t too puffy but that is a personal preference!
Well done to all the staff at the hotel from reception, restaurant, and the people cleaning the rooms.

First impressions of hotel from outside were not great. It could certainly do with a good paint job. However when entering it is lovely but does have weird lifts. The receptionist was lovely as were all the waiting/ bar staff. Can’t say much for management as never saw them.

When we entered our room we were happily surprised as it was lovely and clean and over looking the sea. However once we entered the bathroom it was a different matter altogether. The sink was awful made from cheap plastic and looked like it had a burn mark right around the top sides. The toilet"…….. now here’s the thing."…….. we couldn’t actually see the bottom of the bowl as it was thick brown and filthy. Looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in months. There was really no point in telling reception as couldn’t see what they could really do so off we went to the pound shop and purchased a bottle of scale remover and low and behold within a few hours it had done the job and the toilet was almost as good as new.
As we stayed for the new year I was disappointed-in the entertainment over all and horrified that I was forced to use a card at the bar to buy drinks.
Having said this we still had a lovely time but the cleanliness needs to improve big time.

I had a brief stay here again (the last time was poor with a cockroach and a kettle that would not stop boiling when changed to another room. That is dangerous.)

This time around I stayed here and the bath water was fairly hot but could have been a lot hotter. I found a Cockroach crawling across the floor, the night porter came to retrieve it and said 'oh it's only ONE' (ONE is bad enough!) I had a cockroach last time.

I am going through a lot of trauma and have been through ongoing hell. A night receptionist was concerned about me so that made a slight difference although it didn't change my ongoing crisis.

I was given a better room with a sea view as I didn't realise I had paid more for the following night. However, as nice as the room was with a sea view, there was NO hot water and my mental state was dire due to circumstances. Paramedics were called to me and my accommodation was astonishly finally sorted out via my Doctor after all these years. I didn't get my hot bath and was told they would upgrade if I re-booked with them again. It is also a shame the remote control with options for YouTube and other channels e.t.c does not work as that would have been even better.

As a result of not getting my hot bath, I had to go to another Hotel to get one as that is what I had paid for. The only reason I did not give a terrible review was because they offered me an upgrade next time. The last time they removed my review (see photos of the Cockroach from the previous time.)

We spent Christmas at the Burlington. Reception was quick and friendly and our room large and clean with all the usual amenities and a fabulous sea view. Our beds were very comfortable with spotless sheets and there were plentiful white fluffy towels. The only problem was the shower did need replacing I think. The restaurant was great ,really good service with a smile, food was good too! The staff at the hotel were lovely nothing was too much trouble. On our first night in the restaurant I was unfortunately taken ill all the staff were amazing but Paul definitely went over and above.....fetching me a wheelchair, ice pack and a cold sugary drink without any undue fuss and had me back in our room recovering in no time. I was so very grateful! Dispite everything we went on to have a very enjoyable Christmas 🌲

I stopped here for a Starfish Project course last week. The hotel staff were helpful and extremely friendly - exactly what we needed for our course.
The buffet breakfast was tasty and very generous and dinner was similarly excellent. There was a problem with the central heating although electric heaters were provided for each room and common areas which made the hotel comfortable and welcoming.

I attended a speech course for people who stammer at this hotel. They came to the rescue when our previous hotel cancelled out monthly bookings.

Food - it was nice. Nice choice of food, I am really fussy and they catered to me exactly how I wanted. The restaurant is what you would expect.

Rooms - I can only speak of my room as I didn't see anyone else's. The room was clean, tidy, comfortable bed, everything I would expect from a hotel. The bathroom was a little dated, but it had a bath, shower, sink and toilet that all worked. I slept better at the Burlington than I do in my own bed at home!

Staff - Incredibly friendly, anything I needed was done, nothing was too much trouble. Danielle, the food and beverage lady was so welcoming to our group, like a family friend you have known for ages.

A few rooms were without heating, I believe the hotel is a grade 2 listed building, it's old and sometimes things break. But every room where the heater didn't work, was given an electric heater including my room. It was toasty! They are closing part of the hotel to fix this issue I am told.

The view is breathtaking in the morning, watching the sun rise starts your day off just right if you have to get up that early. Even if you don't have to get up that early, do it just to watch the sun rise over the sea!

Good value for money, hard working staff who were very helpful and attentive. Breakfast choice was good, with hot plates and hot food, good selection of cereal and fruit, tea and coffee topped up as required, dinner was well organised choice of 4 main courses but seasonal vegetables were the same every day! Rooms clean and ample supply of hot water, rooms cold as no central heating but fan heaters were provided. Evening entertainment provided 2 nights and both were very good. Couldn’t expect more for the price paid!

There was only entertainment on one evening, the heating was not working , there was a small electric heater on the wall thank goodness, so the room was warm , but the water was just a bit warm , it was not hot so I couldn't have a proper shower or a bath because if I run a bath the water would of been cold when I got in it , the water was much to cold ,
The meals was good and they did cater for my diet that is vegan, and that was very good thank you , I asked for a bath in my room and I got a bath but the water was way to cold to use the bath , it was just warm water .

Thank you so much for a lovely stay the hotel is huge , and fab location. Our room was lovely and the staff were so helpful. We did breakfast and dinner , when we go back we will just do breakfast as the breakfast was excellent. For dinner the hotel is located right next to this beautiful little street with fairy lights all down it and collection of many restaurants of every cuisine. Thank you for a lovely stay.
