Just returned for the second time at the Burlington. Great room 313 sea view overlooking pier, staff are very friendly and welcoming ,rooms are clean,a few squeaky floor boards ,but not a problem. All meals very nice with usually 3 choices for starter main and sweet courses.every night entertainment including quiz bingo, and Cabaret. Turkey and tinsel even better value includes glass of mulled wine on arrival, coffee and mince pies after, included excursion and a free glass of wine.the drinks are expensive but all in all really great value for money.we will be back again in the new year for definite.

We have just spent an excellent weekend with comfortable accommodation and good food.
The room was clean spacious and well furnished. The restaurant staff were very efficient, good and helpful and the entertainment was first class. There was plenty of choices for food and always well presented.

Our 2nd visit to the Burlington for Turkey & Tinsel. Lovely time was had by all (24). Rooms have been upgraded and done nicely, food was good but not as hot as we would have liked - particularly breakfast. Entertainment great, Mark is such a funny man. All staff are very helpful and friendly. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Such value for money.

The Burlington is a lovely clean and well run hotel, with good food and service our only problem was the size of our room and bathroom. Space between the bath edge and radiator only 22 inches OK if your a stick insect. we tried to change to a larger room but none available. entertainment average usual bingo and quiz and a couple of singers..excellent value at £99 each for 4nights why do some of us pay £139 each for the same deal. ?? Answer don't book weeks in advance

Had a great weekend break, at the Burlington last weekend, travelled with shearings, a good journey down, followed by a quick check-in at reception. On arrival we were greeted with a glass of mulled wine, we sat and relaxed whilst the lifts were free. The hotel is very clean, and decorated lovely. As for the food, a very good varied choice, the only dissapointment was at breakfast, the porridge was very hot, but l ordered poached eggs, and unfortunately they were only just warm, after this , l had continental breakfast. The entertainment was good,Mark certainly makes this hotel what it is, with the entertainment. We certainly enjoyed the quiz . Varied dance music was played, and the entertainment on the Saturday was very good, with Mark doing the Sunday entertainment, which everyone seemed to enjoy.I will defininately go back to this hotel, and would recommend it.

Really good 5 day break with shearings. We have been on a lot of shearings breaks but found this to be one of the best of their hotels. All the staff were extremely friendly and could not do enough for you.The rooms were clean and well serviced. The food was good for this type break.
The only problem was the entertainment,if you didn't like bingo or a quiz then there was not much for you. Also the price of drinks was a bit excessive £3.60 for a pint of beer.
Overall a good trip.

Just returned from a tinsel and turkey weekend at the Burlington with Shearings. We stayed in room 136 which is a good sized room but in need of some tlc. The carpet was threadbare and the gloss paint scuffed and needed repainting. The outlook was awful overlooking the kitchens at the back. So why the best hotel in Eastbourne? Well the room was clean which is the main thing and as said before of a very good size. We only slept in there and washed so we could forgive it for it's misgivings. I believe the rooms are being refurbished so with a new carpet and lick of paint it'll soon hopefully be up to standared. The view from the widow - be fair - not all rooms can have seaviews....someone has to stay at the rear of the hotel and as it was a budget price we paid we couldn't argue with that. The rest of the hotel makes up for the shabby bedroom. It's just first class in ALL aspects. The decor is of an excellent standered and the food as good as you'll get anywhere else. The staff are all polite and helpfull and the entertainment very good. The location of the hotel can't be beaten - right on the promenade opposite the pier and just round the corner from all the shops and town centre. We had a fabulous three nights there and wouldn't dream of staying in any other hotel in Eastbourne. I'm just sorry I had to mention the shabby room but if this is to be a fair account of the hotel I can't say any other...and I'm sure it will soon be rectified so please don't let that put you off going. The Burlington is EXCELLENT value for money and we WILL return and recommend it to all our friends.

We went with shearing's and had an amazing holiday in your hotel. On arrival we were greeted with smiles from most of the staff and when entering our sea view room it had awful creaking floors, I rang reception and was given 3 keys to look at other rooms and chose 112. all floors a bit creaking due to age of hotel, which we understood, but thought room 118 was just too much creaking to spend 5 days in it.

No problem staff were great about it, we had asked for same table as our friends beforehand, but this didn't happen, but the head waiter soon sorted us out and we had an amazing stay on our turkey and tinsel week.

Clean rooms bit tired in bathroom area but the most amazing sea view we were made up. Thanks to everyone for great holiday.

Travelled with Shearings to The Burlington and paid extra for an upgraded room with a sea view on the second floor - well worth it, huge refurbished room, large flatscreen TV, ample storage, modern bathroom and powerful shower. The most comfortable hotel bed I have slept in for many years with crisp, clean linen.

Luggage was efficiently delivered/collected directly to our hotel room, so no lugging cases about. Much appreciated.

Service and food in the restaurant was excellent. Plenty of choice for both breakfast and evening meals and seating is assigned on arrival at reception.

The lifts are very small for the size of the hotel but we never had to wait too long.

Mark who runs the entertainment is a good all rounder and tried to provide something to suit all tastes/age groups. Bingo every night for those that want it with very good prize money while we were there. Bar prices about average for a hotel.

This is a lovely old building and most of the public rooms and restaurant are well furnished and decorated, although there are still areas that require attention. It's in an ideal position on the seafront, yet not too far from the shopping area. We are already planning a return journey in 2015.

We returned yesterday after a three night break with our son and daughter in law.
They had a standard room, which was fine...we booked an upgrade. All of us had a fabulous time....staff in all departments were excellent, helpful and friendly.
By booking an upgrade, we had space for the four of us to spend time together in comfort, and the view from our windows was stunning !
Hotel was clean, food good...entertainment was of a decent standard.
All in all, an excellent break. Thank you.
