Eastbourne stay The location is great. Directly opposite the pier and beach. Just cross the road and you're there.
Great breakfast. Good price, especially if you book in advance. Lovely staff. Great to see a tired, once grand, old building so busy.
The carpet in the room needs replacing. It's old, worn and feels dirty even if it isn't.
Tiny bathroom with a toilet holder on the wall that goes over the toilet bowl. Some serious gymnastics to make it comfortable. This is an old building that needs to TLC. Keep the prices down, do some work and give it the love it deserves.

Stately old pile right on the seafront overlooking the seafront, tired looking from the outside but like a time capsule inside down to the tiny wooden lifts and the ballroom! We had a corner room no321 which my friend loved for the sea views, no airconditioning or double glazing though. All in all a perfectly adequate stay. The hotel could do with a few million to upgrade it!

Myself and my Wife stayed here for two nights as a last minute weekend away . There is car park at the rear of the hotel which costs £6 per night on a first come basis . The reception is tucked away out of site next to the lifts . The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The foyer was really nicely decorated and looked nice and bright . Our room was on the second floor ,unfortunately the first impression when the lift door opens was a let down as the wall was badly marked and looked dirty . The room was okay although it wasn’t the cleanest room I’ve ever been in . The headboard was covered in dust and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a while . The carpet had stains and looked tired. Very disappointed after seeing the foyer was expecting a nice room but that wasn’t to be . The bar staff were very polite and friendly. The room doesn’t get cleaned or the linen changed unless you ask for it to be done . The corridors have the usual creaky floors and again the carpet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. We didn’t eat in the hotel so I can’t comment on the food or service. Would I stay here again …..if I had no other options maybe .

Good value for money, it was as expected for budget accomodation in a period sea-side building. Sea view. I was supprised that I had a view of Eastbourne Pier from a budget room Really unpleasant staining on one of the chairs in the room.
