The staff were very nice, professional, courteous, and friendly. They listened to my complaint I had and acted in the best way to solve the issue by upgrading our room to a better, cleaner and much more comfortable room. I really cannot fault their customer service and they should all be recognised for this especially the girls in reception. The location of the hotel was perfect, with the added bonus of a car park to the rear of the property. The sea view was simply perfect. The cleanliness and decor of our first room was quite simply unacceptable. Things remained from the previous quests that should have been cleared away had the room been cleaned properly i would have expected them not to be there. There was quite obviously a problem with damp ot a leak of some sort in the corners of the room which had just been painted over and looked bloody awful. The bathroom looked like it had seen better days, lots of mould, soap scum and build up of dirty limescale on taps and in corners of the shower ect, and the electric radiator had a very dangerous fault that could potentially cause someone harm. I just feel that with attention to detail and some intense cleaning it would make the room more appealing to guest and feel like it is worth the money.
When it comes to flooring, either new carpets or simply a bloody good clean of the existing ones is needed, both in the rooms and in corridors. It is very off putting when you see stains.
The windows are something that desperately needs addressing, i totally appreciate the age of the building, but it doesnt mean that the windows, the frames and the outside decor doesn't have to look like it belongs in a crack den. It just needs some attention by maintenance.
I didn't like the lift, if you suffer from chlostrophobia then you will not want to use the lift it literally will take only 1 suitcase and 2 people standing one in front of the other. It's the tiniest lift in the world, again I appreciate the age of the building but its quite shocking that its never been modernised. There are 2 lifts but for our stay only 1 was working. I used the stairs mostly.
The locks on doors need to be addressed. The locks are keys with a yale lock and no option to double lock the door on the inside for guest security over night.

Would consider elsewhere next time The property is in very poor condition
My room was pokey , the window only partly opened, the shower soap dispenser was empty. The room colour was a depressing dark grey
Only One very small lift was working and one occasion the door would not open and I had to go up a floor and walk down a level!!! Quite frightening.
Plenty of seating area in the restaurant and also spaces to relax
Having a small standing space at the front was very enjoyable.

Stay at Burlington 16th August We had a sea view room and the bed was comfortable. There was entertainment in the evening and the singer was excellent. We also had breakfast and food was good. Building needs a bit of TLC, only one lift working. The sash window frames in bedroom were rotten.

Excellent location, wonderful staff, good choices at breakfast, clean and comfortable seating view room Tiny lift, just about fits 2 people and one suitcase, the other lift is out if order and has been for months.
Rooms are not cleaned/serviced during your stay so items such as tea, coffee, sugar etc and loo rolls have to be obtained from reception

Great location, near to the pier, town, shops,
Staff are great, friendly and helpfull.
Bed was clean, room was clean,
But the netcurtains were filthy, could do with a wash, along with the curtains.
And the latch on my bedroom window was broken, so it was either wide open or closed, i did report it to staff.
But they did supply me with a fan in this hot heat.

We were very pleased with our stay The Burlington Hotel having read adverse reviews before we went! However typically we were pleasantly surprised with the refurbished hotel . Nice bedroom seaside facing on level 4. Bedroom freshly painted with new furniture and carpet. Fan.
Only one lift working, it was the size of a fridge!
We understand there's a big refurb coming up for the outside of the beautiful building.
We look forward to returning next year!
