Up, up and away! Join us for the School’s Out! Virtual Balloon Race on Friday 3rd July 2020. The race begins from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry (…well, the location where it was filmed!) and runs for seven days. The race is completely virtual; with no real balloons used and no race taking place in real life, there is absolutely no risk to the environment.
You can purchase a balloon for just £3, and choose the thickness of its rubber, the volume of helium inside, and customise it to look beautiful. The online portal then uses real-life weather data for the race location and combines it with your customised balloon to give an accurate virtual race experience. Your balloon may even pop if the weather dictates, but it could still win if the wind changes direction – anything could happen!
You can purchase as many balloons as you like to increase your chances of winning – and support our work too.
Track your balloon using Google Maps, and see how far it can go.
A brilliant way to mark the beginning of the Summer Holidays for children - put their knowledge of science, geography and art to the test as you customise the perfect balloon.
If you’re missing a loved one, why not gift them with a balloon of their own, or dedicate your balloon to someone you can’t see right now.
If life isn’t the same without the usual office banter, get competitive and challenge your colleagues to see whose balloon can travel the furthest!
Be in with a chance to win fabulous prizes:*
Furthest travelled balloon - £500 cash
Second furthest travelled balloon – an Apple iPad
Plus ten runner-up prizes of £10 National Book Tokens
*Please note, this race is provided by a third party and multiple charities will have balloons entered into the race. The above prizes are available for the overall winners of all balloons entered, not just St Wilfrid’s Hospice balloons.
Every balloon you purchase will help St Wilfrid’s continue to use our specialist skills to care for our patients and their families, in what is a very challenging time for everyone.
