Lewes Bonfire Celebrations take place across the town with six separate bonfire societies holding their own processions, traditions, fire sites and fireworks displays.
The event attracts very large crowds and creates significant disruption across Lewes and the surrounding road network. Road closures are expected from around 2pm, parking in the town is extremely limited, and access to individual fire sites is ticketed.
PLEASE BE ADVISED NOT TO TRAVEL INTO LEWES FOR THE EVENT UNLESS NECESSARY. Longstanding safety advice from the authorities has encouraged people from outside the Lewes area to celebrate Bonfire Night closer to home because of the scale of the crowds, transport pressures and limited access.
