DanceMania takes you back to When We Were Rave.
Step into the shadows of a forgotten rhythm and let’s gather once again to resurrect the true spirit of rave. This isn’t just a party. It’s a homecoming of sound.
A carefully curated journey back to the beginning, where breakbeats met bliss and acid lines bounced from wall to wall. We have summoned the legendary pioneers; the architects of this era, to take us back to those nights of reverence and release.
MARK ARCHER The living embodiment of rave history. As one half of the seminal ALTERN 8 and a key figure in NEXUS 21 - also an original member of Bizarre Inc, Mark delivers a masterclass in the genre’s DNA. Prepare for a pure and unadulterated transmission from the source of acid house. Along with many other hits and appearances on Top of the Pops "Activ 8 (Come With Me)" – Their biggest hit, reached No.3 in the UK Singles Chart in 1991. Still as busy as ever up and down the country and in Ibiza doing what he loves, Mark is a regular at Glastonbury, playing Glade and Arcadia to name a few.
SLIPMATT Slipmatt entered the DJ scene in 1988. Shortly thereafter, he formed the influential breakbeat hardcore act SL2 with DJ Lime. Their first release, “Do That Dance,” came out in 1989. SL2 swiftly gained underground traction, with “DJs Take Control / Way In My Brain” reaching No. 11 in the UK charts. Their followup, “On a Ragga Tip,” became a defining rave anthem - No. 1 in the Network Charts and No. 2 in the UK Top 40 in April 1992. Often described as the “Godfather of Rave,” Slipmatt has earned legendary status for his role in pioneering the acid house and early UK rave movement.
ELLIS DEE The name itself is synonymous with the golden age of rave. A legend of the Fantazia, Dreamscape and Telepathy hall of fame, Ellis Dee’s prowess behind the decks is the stuff of folklore, promising a euphoric journey through the greatest anthems ever released.
