Art Under Ground : Richard Green + Mary & John Wright Art Exhibition
Paintings in acrylic on canvas. Many on theme of Sussex seascape and landscape. All those hanging will be for sale and most of the proceeds after expenses will be paid to local chosen charities.
Richard paints as a hobby in acrylics on canvas and board, to reflect the scenes of beautiful Sussex both coastal and inland.
Richard Green was born in 1949 and spent much of his working life in private practice as a solicitor in East Sussex and later as a legal consultant. He decided to take up becoming an amateur artist and painting as a hobby in 1998.
He has enjoyed successful painting in acrylics and has kept to that medium for his works and he paints over recent years usually on box canvas, framed canvas or board. He has exhibited his paintings publicly on many past occasions.
He has specialised in the subject matter of natural and beautiful Sussex which is his home county and is inspired by the relationship of The South Downs and the rugged high and majestic white chalk cliffs of the South Coast and its breath taking and ever changing skies, sunrises and sunsets and its waves and beaches and fine and historic coastal towns.
He has a passion for anything marine or rural in the county of Sussex which varied colour harmony and light sources he depicts through and in his paintings and which have brought long-lasting pleasure to many viewers and the buyers of his works.
This exhibition is on display in the foyer and coffee bar of Eastbourne’s Under Ground Theatre from Friday 6th to Saturday 28th October 2017. It it can be viewed for free on Fridays and Saturdays between 10am and 4pm and whenever the venue is open for other events. Private viewing on 5th October from 6pm.
