Creating connection and confidence through football, this Eastbourne team brings together refugees, asylum seekers and migrants to build community, wellbeing and belonging on and off the pitch.
Sanctuary United is a grassroots football team supported by Sanctuary Eastbourne and led by a former refugee turned volunteer coach. With a proud unbeaten record, they have played teams from across the region including Sussex Police, Portsmouth FC and Eastbourne DGH. The squad continues to grow as a symbol of resilience, teamwork and inclusive local sport.
