The parish council has statutory duties and powers and delivers a range of local services, including:
• Allotments and community spaces
• Management of public open spaces and recreational areas
• Dog and litter bins
• Community facilities and buildings such as halls and shelters
• Local events, grant support and neighbourhood projects
It also owns and maintains certain parish land and assets on behalf of the community.
Comprising up to 13 elected or co-opted councillors, the council meets regularly to decide on local priorities, budgets and initiatives for the parish. It employs a part-time clerk who handles administrative and financial matters. Meetings are generally open to the public and held monthly at local venues in Pevensey Bay.
The parish office is based at Ethel Wood Community Centre in Pevensey Bay. Residents can contact the parish clerk by telephone or email for enquiries about services, bookings, planning consultations or community activities.
