Andy from Figure 8 has delivered various training courses for Trinity over the years: Therapeutic Community Principles, Relapse Prevention, Facilitating Groups, Managerial Supervision & Solution Focused Brief Therapy. About twenty of our staff has benefitted from Andy’s training, including myself, and as a result we have had to completely rewrite what we do and how we do it. By discovering that we are not the experts and that people have the solutions to their own problems, we have had to retrain all our staff who, as a result, have been on individual journeys of self discovery. We now provide space for people, not answers, we now listen, not tell, we now facilitate and empower, rather than advise and do things for people. In short, Andy’s training has meant an awful lot of work and managing people through change, so, if you don’t want your world turned upside down by insightful & visionary training, and radically improving your services is not your cup of tea, do not employ Figure 8!
Impressively broad knowledge base of the project subject, skilled and expert facilitation of the project plan which was delivered on time and within budget. The co-ordination of the many strands of work that required completion was achieved without a hitch, full consultation of service users and staff was also managed sensitively leading to positive engagement of both groups. Overall, we were very pleased with the outcome and felt we had received full value from our investment.
Andy Perkins is probably one of the best trainers I have worked with: really knows his stuff but much more importantly, knows how to deliver training effectively. Their business always delivers a good quality product, within the time specified and within budget. Figure 8 are a brilliant business that will always go that extra mile to do the best job.
Provides essential training in the Addictions field which allows us to be more effective in our work with vulnerable people. I rate this business 5 Hearts! Full marks.
Having worked with Andy many times, sharing a few training sessions together, I have come to respect his professionalism, knowledge and expertise. Andy can be quite good fun to work with as well.
What i love about the business is how knowledgable the trainers are and how relaxed the trainers make you feel while under there training. and also how open they are to other or better suggestions, and willing to alter they are to meet with peoples needs. these guys are well clued up and also client focused. Willing to go the extra mile you might say!!!
Figure 8 provides market leading consultancy services within the alcohol and drug; mental health and wider health and social care sectors. I have commissioned Figure 8 in a number of career roles across a diverse range of assignments including national policy guidance, research and training. I have also worked in collaboration with Figure 8 under a partnership consultancy agreement. Figure 8 has consistently performed to high standards in terms of quality, budget and timescale. I endorse, without reservation, Figure 8 which is led effectively by its Directors, Andy Rome and Andy Perkins. David McCue, Director, PSMR Ltd
Relevant, interesting, well delivered training with a relaxed trainer. Very professional and good understanding of the subject.
Figure 8 offer the best training for substance misuse services that I have experienced - their materials are of the best quality, the content is thoroughly researched to a high academic standard and the trainers are very experienced in service delivery and research methods - i know that they also write training packs for other training agencies and at times don't get the credit so i want to give this testimonial. they can be trusted to give the very best , reliable and quality service that can have a real impact on practice and therefore on the lives of people seeking recovery from addiction.Thank you Shona Macleod
I've worked with the team at Figure 8 Consultancy for a number of years and I think they are fantastic! As Head of Learning and Development for a UK substance misuse rehabilitation charity they provided consistently brilliant training and consultancy advice. This was not only a key factor in helping our staff and clients, but also in supported us to improve our training provision to the extent that we got a number of national recognitions. All members of the Figure 8 team are friendly, approachable, knowledgeable, innovative and always willing to go the extra mile. And, being based in Dundee and having to deliver training all over the UK that was literally the case! I’ve now moved to another organisation and am keen for Figure 8 to provide relevant support to me in this new setting! Dundee is lucky and should be proud to have such an amazing organisation at its heart!
I was looking to train my staff in Solution Focused Therapy Brief and Figure 8 and Andy Perkins were recommended to me by a colleague. Andy came and met me personally. He went to great lengths to understand our organisation, our ethos, values, challenges, strengths and weaknesses. As well as that, the type of service users we work with, their issues, challenges and what outcomes we sought to gain with them. Andy's style, personal approach, expertise and experience were fantastic. He is a genuine and authentic person, with a sincere desire to help you and your organisation to better help the people it seeks to help - securing the outcomes that you need to secure. His training on SFTB changed our thinking and how we now do things, as a result we have a better equipped and healthier staff team, who are even more motivated to help our service users. If your looking for consultancy and/or training – give this guy a call first; you will not be disappointed.
“The Borders Alcohol & Drugs Partnership (ADP) commissioned Figure 8 to carry out a needs assessment of drug and alcohol problems in the Scottish Borders (2009), together with an evaluation of existing services. This study was designed to assist the ADP to meet recommendations of the Scottish Governments’ Delivery Reform Group, and those within the Audit Scotland report into drug and alcohol-related spend (also 2009). The resulting reports wholly fulfilled these requirements, having been rigorously planned and conducted, with draft findings subject to consultation to ensure accuracy and ownership. Both were completed to a very high professional standard and have indeed proved invaluable to the ADP in securing improvements in the range and quality of service delivery and in performance management. The ADP and constituent members have been very impressed with this work. We would be happy to recommend them to others who require similar studies to be carried out in their areas.”
I love the professional manner they deal with their business. Also the depth of knowledge and experience they apply to any work they undertake. Also they have an excellent range of expertise to apply to any work they undertake. I have also experienced a very professional but approachable reception when phoning their office base. also they are prepared to travel to suit your needs and this makes life very easy for the customer.
I've used F8 Venues a number of times for my executive coaching clients traveling to Dundee. Clients love it, because it's only 2 mins walk from the station. The reception staff have always looked after me and my clients, with refreshments and a warm friendly welcome. The small room is ideal too - its well lit, fresh with a modern finish and private enough for a confidential session. thumbs up from Lifetree!
A quality policy that leaves the rest behind. A track record in their industry sector that leads the way! Congratulations
