Last week one of my cousins brought her hubbie and four young children on holiday to Deal. They stayed at Kingsdown Holiday Village and had the most fantastic time.
They hired bikes and cycled along the seafront and to Fowlmead Country Park; they spent a day at the paddling pool; we all went to the Royal Marines concert at the memorial bandstand; they visited Deal Castle; they took one trip out of town on the Hythe-Dymchurch-New Romney light railway; they ate out including at The Royal Hotel and The Zetland in Kingsdown. They all had a great week, packed loads in and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
The cousins spent their last family holiday in Antibes on the French Riviera. And of course they enjoyed themselves there too. But on their last evening here we were chatting and my cousin's husband announced "You can keep The South of France! Deal is the perfect place for a family holiday." And I agree!
