It's not possible to underestimate the excitement Jacqui Marola of JAM Hair is feeling at being one of the finalists for this year's Croydon Business Awards. It's quite an honour - after receiving hundreds of entries for the nine categories, with a panel of independent judges whittling the entries down to 41 finalists, JAM Hair, the hairdressing salon based in Sanderstead, have become one of the select few who are recognised as being incredibly good at what they do.

Of course, here at thebestof Croydon, we already knew that!!

Jacqui has her interview with the judges coming up soon and is not ashamed to admit that she really wants this title!

Jaqcui isn't a fly-by-night business person who's only just cropped up in Croydon. She's been working hard and serving the Croydon community since 2006. Here's how those years have unfolded:

I bought my salon JAM HAIR Sanderstead in Dec 2006, very naive and excited about being a fully fledged business owner.

2007 Tough times! I had no idea how much I had to learn, how hard it would be and the way it affected my family life, but I stayed positive and got through it.

2008 Embarked on business courses and coaches to grow myself and move the business forward.
