From Croydon in crisis to Croydon in celebration, this weekend sees the first Carnival of Cultures in London Road,

The event, which is being held on Sunday 23 September between 11am and 5pm, will celebrate the different cultures within Croydon, a chance for the community of residents and businesses to come together and celebrate the cultural diversity in the area.

It follows a week of festival fever in and around the area with special offers from shops and businesses in London Road.

Fun for all the family, activities include:

~ Stage show

~ Carnival parade

~ Steel bands

~ Children’s entertainments

~ Martial arts demonstration

~ Traditional dancing from around the world

~ Jazz singers

~ Arts & crafts

~ Stalls

~ Fairground rides

~ Barbecue

~ Food & drinks

 

... and so much more!

Road closures will be in place from London Road at the junction with Oakfield Road to Sumner Road to make way for the festivities.

What a wonderful way to wile away the hours on a Sunday afternoon!
