WEEKEND OF SPECIAL OFFERS IN CROYDON

Over Saturday and Sunday (August 20 and 21) shoppers will be able to park free, take advantage of free transport on the borough's tram network and enjoy a range of discount offers from local retailers.

The package has been put together by the council and the borough's Business Improvement District (BID), and further offers will be made available over comings weeks.

The full list includes:

Free - tram travel over the weekend, announced by London Mayor Boris Johnson
Free - parking on-street and in surface car parks throughout the town centre, including South End and London Road
Discounted - £2 all-day parking at Whitgift, Centrale and Allders car park

Retailers in the town centre are also contributing, with many offering special discounts over the weekend as the community pulls together.

40% off all main courses at Pizza Express in South End
Free entry to Tiger Tiger before 10.30pm
15% discount on food and drink at Green Dragon
10% off in the bar and restaurant at Jurys Inn
20% off all purchases at Bon Marche over £20
10% off all purchases at DIY Den over £10
Perfumes at less than duty free prices at Allders (selected lines)
Free children’s play area at Beanies (Saturday only)
Free face painting at Croydon Visitor Centre (Saturday only)
