Networking yourself and your business is a vital part of any marketing strategy in this day and age; putting yourself out there and making your presence felt whilst sharing business development strategies.

Fortunately here in Croydon, we have a wealth of opportunities to do just that.

On May 10th at 6.30pm Croydon's 'Marketing Queen' Maud Todd will be speaking at Purley Downs Golf Club. Join the BEA (Croydon) at its monthly meeting as Maud takes you through "The Seven Musts of Effective Marketing... that most business owners either don't know or don't do." Honest and straight talking, relevant to all businesses whatever sector you may be in, Maud's personal guarantee is that everyone will leave with at least two nuggets of information that they will be able to go away with and implement in their business the very next day.

The session also offers time for open networking, to introduce yourself and your business and the chance to socialise and enjoy a buffet and wine or soft drinks in an informal but purposeful arena.

On the 11th May, why not go along to First Networking, which offers network meetings at the Toby Carvery at 415 Brighton Road South, Croydon, for local businesses as well as the opportunity to connect online. Word of mouth still remains the quickest and most effective marketing tool available and if other local businesses can recommend yours to their contact list then you are well on the way to continued growth and success. Always a two way street, offering your support to your business counterparts will keep Croydon's business community thriving. Starting at 7.00am a positive and inspiring breakfast session guaranteed to set you up for a dynamic and productive day!

And for the ladies who lunch, 1230 The Women's Company are holding their meeting at Little Bay Restaurant, 32 Selsdon Road South on the 12th May 2012 at 12.30pm. Whether your business is female orientated, or you are simply more comfortable keeping your networking to ladies only for the time being, this is a great opportunity to share ideas, learn new skills and make contacts with other like minded business women.

Meetings are friendly and informal but offer the opportunity for you to give a one minute presentation and/or display your products and literature. Enjoy good company, discover and share the secrets of business success and enjoy a delicious meal in lovely surroundings.

The South London Business 'Promoting Business and Tackling Crime' event will be taking place at the Croydon Park Hotel 7 Altyre Road, Croydon on the 14th May from 5.30pm to 8.00pm. Special Guest Metropolitan Police Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe will be outlining his plans for protecting businesses and tackling crime in the Capital and South London. Mr Hogan-Howe is highly respected for his tough approach to anti-social behaviour and gun crime and his attendance as guest speaker at this networking event promises to offer invaluable advice to local businesses. As an added bonus, thanks to sponsorship this event is now free.

There is no doubt that life is not easy for the current generation of business people and entrepreneurs, but Croydon continues to provide enviable networking opportunities with an open arms policy, demonstrating a determination among the business community that by working together they can face all the challenges the economy cares to throw at them!

Details of all meetings can be found on our Events page.
