This June there's a festival on fun in store for us in Croydon.
First up is the Croydon Heritage festival which runs 24th–30th June and is now in its 5th year. This year the festival aims to celebrate the unique nature of the town under the theme "Evolution" with a whole host of special events throughout the week.
Croydon's journey is one of innovation – from Roman saffron farms to Tudor palaces, pioneering Victorians and concrete utopias – and it is now about to undergo the next phase of it's development with the various regeneration projects in the pipeline. The heritage festival celebrates Croydon's history and the thriving town it has become.
As in previous years, the festival offers a whole range of events to enjoy, from exhibitions to workshops, markets to tours. For full details of what's running and when, click here.
On the 25th Croydon's South End becomes a feast of food as the 6th Food & Music Festival returns. It's a fabulous opportunity to be part of the biggest and best summer party for foodies and music lovers.
The Resaurant Quarter once again hosts the event, which will run from 12pm to 7pm. This year it will feature three stages of live music, covering every genre from folk and rock to jazz and blues, plus street performers and children’s entertainment, as well as a huge range of fantastic food.
Our favourite Italian restaurant in Croydon - Bagatti's - are one of the sponsors of the event and will of course be there in force, so we'll definitely be paying them a visit.
With free entry it promises to be an afternoon of fantastic alfresco dining with food from the four corners of the globe to be sampled and enjoyed.
Don't miss these two fabulous events - we aren't!
