Competition is fierce for Croydon's Christmas lights

Croydon Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID) joined hands this year with Blachere Illumination to run a competition for local children to design a Christmas light for Croydon Town Centre.

Met with a fantastic response, they received hundreds of entries from school children across the Croydon Borough.

By all accounts, shortlisting the excellent entries down to just 12 successful designs was no easy task. These bright 12 will be displayed at The Croydon Centre throughout the festive period.

Each shortlisted entrant is set to receive a prize, and four clear winners are to be unveiled during the Town Centre lights 'Switch On' on November 19th. The North End event also sees former Eastenders actress Michelle Collins performing the switch on ceremony at 6.15pm.
