The Colchester Macmillan Fundraising Group will be holding their annual fundraising ball, this year called “The Macmillan Diamond Ball” at The Moot Hall, Colchester on Saturday 1st December to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The glittering charity event, which this year is sponsored by leading Essex Dog & Cat Groomers, Snoopies Limited, has become a regular feature in the fundraising group’s calendar and last year raised over £5,000 for Macmillan. The group, who are all volunteers, are hosting the event at the stunning Moot Hall located in the Colchester Town Hall where guests will be treated to a delicious 3 course meal from The Lemon Tree Event Catering Company. There will also be entertainment throughout the night from magician David Mayhew, singer Steve Williams and the opportunity to dance the night away with DJ Peter Sleigh.

The star event of the night will be the charity auction where guests will have the opportunity to bid for some fabulous prizes including a once in a lifetime Le Mans 24 hour Racecourse experience, a meal for 6 cooked in their own home by a professional chef, a country hotel break for 2 and exclusive jewellery from Louise Needham whose clients include Kate Moss, Amy Childs and Caroline Flack. A luxury raffle will also be drawn on the night where guests will have the chance to win prizes including spa days and treatments, luxury hampers and gifts and much much more!

Jan Dearsley the Event Organiser for the volunteer group said,

“Our charity ball is the highlight of our fundraising events calendar; it is always a wonderful evening and the support we receive from the local community for this event is fantastic. I’m so excited about the event this year as we have some great live entertainment lined up as well as a superb menu from the Lemon Tree Events Catering team.

"Our charity auction and raffle are also shaping up to be our best yet, despite the current economic situation local businesses have really pulled out all the stops and donated lots of great prizes and services. We are still able to add to our prize collection if anyone else wishes to donate, there also a few sponsorship options remaining if any more companies wish to support Macmillan through this local event.”
