Well my family and I have just come back from having a wonderful time at the Abbey Farm open day. The organic farm had organised lots of activities and there was loads to do for all ages and we all thoroughly enjoyed it! Thankfully too, the sun stayed out for the duration of the event.
There were tractor trailer rides, we watched sheep being sheared, explored the vegetable and flower garden, got close up and personal with some cows being milked (my toddler thought this was the best thing ever), sat on farm vehicles and then drank home made summer fruit squash and ate a giant slice of yummy carrot cake in the sun whilst listening to music from an instrument I’ve never seen before, and the name of which I couldn’t hazard a guess at! Such a good time was had by all that I heard many an unhappy child at closing time!
A big thank you to all the staff that were great and helped to make the day so enjoyable.
Its such a shame that it’s only a yearly event but thankfully the farm shop and café are open Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5pm and Sundays 11am-4pm.
