Care UK’s Deewater Grange, on Chester Road will be opening its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.
 
On Saturday 8th August from 12pm-3pm, the Chester Road home will be hosting a special garden party. As part of the event, residents will be sharing their favourite summer dishes with guests, including a barbecue, pizzas and sweet treats from South East Asia.
 
The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see all Care UK homes host foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like.
 
Each festival will offer sustainable, community-focused initiatives while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.

Deewater Grange is a state-of-the-art care home that provides full-time residential, dementia and nursing care, as well as short-term respite care. It has been designed to enable residents to lead active and fulfilled lives and incorporates plenty of space for hobby and leisure activities, including its own pub, cinema and hair and beauty salon. The layout of the building is configured into a series of individual suites, each having a dedicated lounge/dining room to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities.
