I visit this place often because the food, service and atmosphere is perfect, its always busy in the evenings and steady lunch times, one of the best Italians in Chelmsford, I don't have photos but I have booked for a table of 14 people in a couple of weeks. I will remember to take some then. 🙂

Wife and myself made a fairly late booking and we were lucky to get in on a Saturday. The restaurant was buzzing and staff were keeping very busy. A large menu selection, took a while to choose. For starters, went for onion/rosemary bread and frito misto. For mains we had fillet steak with dolecellate sauce and tagliatelle with scallops, tomato and chilli. They were both really delicious and cooked to perfection. We didn't have room for desserts, but squeezed in an Italian brandy and espresso! Service was really spot on despite the busy room, even managed a chat with staff. Would recommend Il Palazzo for a great atmosphere, serving lovely food at reasonable prices...

I whole heartedly recommend eating here if you like Italian food everything is beautifully cooked and looks as good as it tastes. The wait staff were friendly and helpful. It's also a great place for people who need a gluten free menu.

We were looking for a traditional yummy Italian and this did not disappoint. A true hidden gem. The food was delicious, tasted fresh and flavourful with generous portions. We love Italian cuisine and this was by far one of the best Italians we have visited. Service was very good; our waiter was attentive, gave good recommendations and looked after us. I had the crab and prawn linguine which was beautifully balanced and delicate. We will be back! Thankyou.

Came here for first time as menu looked quite good. Starters were good although a little long coming as they were very busy. Mains mostly good although the sauteed potato was sliced rather thin and were more like crisps. This is my only fault but enough for me not to go again. I think good potatoes are a very important part of the meal, so sorry won't come again.

Had the set lunch menu with 2 friends - 2 courses plus a glass of wine. Absolutely delicious ! And I loved the red wine, perfect temperature, full bodied with a deep fruity taste. There was plenty of choice on the set menu, well presented on lovely warm plates, makes all the difference, great service and good atmosphere - will definitely return. Had halibut on the specials board, big favourite of mine, so hopefully on again when I go another time.

Lovely evening spent at Il Palazzo. The food was great and served promptly. We did get forgotten about when it came to ordering desserts but we were having a nice time and weren’t too worried. When we asked to order desserts it was dealt with quickly. Very polite attentive staff but not intrusive. Reasonably priced compared to other Italians. I would definitely recommend and we will be back. Thank you
