Winners of Easter art competition announced!

Bescot Promotions joined forces with Cannock Chase Council to launch the competition for youngsters living in the Cannock Chase District.

 

To be in with a chance of winning, children simply had to draw a picture based on what Easter means to them.

 

Over 500 young people entered the competition, including youngsters from local nurseries, primary and secondary schools.

 

The winners and runners- up are as follows:

Under-fives 5’s

Winner: Oliver Smith, aged 3three

Runners up:

Lewis Whipps, aged 5five

Owen Gillan, aged 4four

Asra Lovenberry, aged 4four

 

Five to eight year- olds

Winner: Nell Bleu Beverly Clenton, aged 6six

Runners up: Nathan Newport, aged 8eight

Jasmine Dixon, aged 7seven

Freya Yates, aged 7seven

 

Eight to 11 year- olds

Winner: Brandon Clarke, aged 9nine

Runners Upup:

Katie Hill, aged 1010

Thomas Jackson, aged 1010

Sian Farrington, aged 11

 

11 to 16- year- olds

Winner: Shannon Craddock, aged 13

Runners up:

Keeley McCandless, aged 13

Jackie Grice, aged 13

Stephen Lewis, aged 13

 

The winning youngsters attended a celebration on Thursday 10th  April and were presented with their prizes.  These included chocolate Easter eggs and art activity books.

 

The winning artwork, along with pictures submitted by other all the children who entered, will beare on display  during over the Easter holidays in the Council’s shop – Unit 1 Market Hall Precinct adjacent to Cannock Indoor Market Hall. The public are encouraged to come and enjoy the pictures and visit Cannock’s Town Centre markets at the same time.

 

Linda Shaw, Assistant Markets Officer for Cannock Chase Council, said: “It was great to see the number of entries and the quality of artwork we received. The Council is working closely with Bescot Promotions to promote the markets within Cannock Town Centre and we would encourage people to come along and see the variety of stalls their local markets have on offer”. 

 

Steve Evans, Director of Bescot Promotions, said: “We were delighted with the response from the local schools and have enjoyed promoting this joint initiative with the Council. I would urge everyone to go along and see the pictures that are being displayed in the town centre”.
