The trusted team of Goliath professional fitters then complete the dream kitchen undertaking all required work including plastering, tiling, electrics and more. We know from experience one point of contact ensures a smooth process and avoids some of the biggest mistakes...

1) Not thinking behind the doors...

What will your cupboards be used for? Can you fit a large cereal box somewhere convenient? And a question often overlooked, where will your bin go in your new kitchen? Do you want a focal point of a bin, or can it be planned into the design...of course it can at Goliath.

2) Trying to make 'off the shelf' units fit...

Buying off the shelf units from major DIY chains may appear a good option, but the basic units will never fit your room perfectly like those that can be made specific for your needs. And the price difference...you will be surprised at how competitive Goliath is able to be. One common example is when people leave a boiler on show as there is no cupboard the right size...crazy! Get units perfect for all your needs and add maximum usable space, visual appearance and value.

3) Not planning appliances properly...

Do you really want your fridge next to an oven? This is certainly not the most efficient putting heating and cooling appliances next to one another. Do you want your hob above your oven? Separating your hob and oven give you 2 cooking stations for ease of food preparation and fewer arguments! Do you want under-counter appliances or could a higher level oven provide a better solution? Something to really think about for those with back pain.

4) Using a general tradesperson to install a kitchen...

Using a friend or family member may seem a great idea for installation as the quote may appear to offer a saving, but you need the right tradespeople doing what they are best at to ensure a great kitchen installation. The plastering should be done by a plasterer, the tiling by a tiler and so on. You don't see England playing Harry Kane in goal! Use specialists and get the job done perfectly first time and far quicker than by the person thinking they can do it all. At Goliath we have a tried and tested team of contractors for each and every task, all managed by Goliath with one point of contact.

5) Self managing a kitchen project...

Some people recognise the need for a team of contractors to complete a kitchen install; however, managing this team yourself is a recipe for stress! Using separate contractors can mean each tradesperson completing their work when available causing knock on delays for other involved in the project. For example, if the electrical first fix is not completed when the plasterer is available, who is to blame? There is no accountability for the work done and we often hear of tradespeople blaming one another for problems with a project. Here at Goliath, we manage a quality team and are your point of contact; and the only bill you need to pay will come from Goliath.

6) Not understanding the benefits of different materials and products...

What are the benefits of Quartz worktop over granite? How are different worktops joined? Is a glass splashback suitable? At Goliath we offer the full range of materials and products and can advice on the qualities and any drawbacks. One product proving very popular is a laminate worktop available in 25mm depth giving a luxury look with full practicality and value for money. This worktop can also be cut to a curve for curved end units and a stunning effect.

7) Not researching about others experiences...

Don't be fooled by glossy brochures and flash salesmen. Trust a company with a proven track record where you can meet the staff and see the products.
