This follows the latest Government guidance that the public can now travel to sites and take unlimited exercise, as long as they follow social distancing guidance.

Car parks at Cannock Park, Hednesford Park, Heath Hayes Park, Ravenhill Park, Elmore Park, The Stadium and Castle Ring and tennis courts at Hednesford Park, Cannock Park and Heath Hayes Park have been re-opened.

Councillor Christine Mitchell, Portfolio Leader for Culture and Sport said “We would ask that residents use the facilities in the District responsibly and follow government guidance on social distancing and to stay alert at all times.  Residents should also be mindful that toilets, cafes and play areas, outdoor gyms will remain closed.”

Toilets, cafes, play areas multi-use games areas and all outdoor gym equipment will remain closed.

The car park at Mill Green Nature Reserve is currently being used by the contractor who is undertaking works for the new designer outlet village and will remain closed until all works have been completed.

Currently the Golf Course at Cannock Park will remain closed until appropriate safety and operating arrangements can be put in place. We are working with our partner, Inspiring healthy lifestyles, and providing appropriate social distancing, safety and booking arrangements can be put in place; it is planned that the golf course will re-open on a limited basis from Saturday 23 May.  This will enable IHL to test the new social distancing rules and booking systems before the course opens fully.
