The Premier Suite, based above Bar Sport, in High Green, is hosting a weekend of Scottish celebrations on January 24 and 25 to celebrate Scotland’s favourite son.
The celebrations start on the Saturday with the annual Midlands Biggest Burns Night Scottish Party.
The line-up of entertainment on Saturday evening includes live Scottish band Splash, Rod Stewart tribute, highland dancers and bagpipers who have travelled all the way from Stirling.
The evening will include a Scottish themed meal complete with haggis, neeps and tatties. Tickets for Saturday’s party night are £24.50 each. The event starts at 7.30pm.
The celebrations continue on the Sunday with a Scottish themed family Sunday lunch which includes a traditional Scottish Ceilidh band, piper, highland dancers and children’s magician. Sunday lunch is £17.50 for adults and £5.50 for children. Under 5’s eat for free. The event starts at 12pm and goes on until around 5pm.
Scott Murray, owner of The Premier Suite, said: “Scotland is very much in my blood as my grandfather came to Cannock from Scotland in the 1950’s. During Burns Weekend I like to go back to my roots and enjoy everything which is Scottish.
“This is our seventh Burns Weekend and it is always a great weekend. I believe it is the biggest in the Midlands. Some people like to dress up in the traditional highland regalia but Scottish dress is an option. The entertainment throughout the weekend is brilliant and some of the performers travel all the way down from Stirling. It should prove to be another memorable weekend.”
