The new calendars will be distributed to the 40,000 + households in the District by dedicated staff, over the next couple of weeks from the beginning of November.
Councillor Carl Bennett, Portfolio Leader for the Environment said “It’s important that residents keep and display their new recycling calendar, as it tells them which bin goes out and when. It includes arrangements for bank holidays as well as a guide about what items should go is each bin.”
Our recycling rates as a District are already an impressive 52% making us 54th on the league table in the Country, but the Council wants to do even better and will be launching their ‘Recycling isn’t Rubbish’ campaign in the New Year.
Residents are asked to pay particular attention to the Festive season’s collection dates as some collections are earlier or later than normal. We will not be able to return to a bin that is put out late.
