Hednesford in Partnership will act as the glue to bring all of these groups together to create a stronger force, sourcing funding and co-ordinating projects of varying sizes.
At the last meeting, attendees decided on the name Hednesford in Partnership, along with the strapline – Live, Love, Discover – signalling the group’s hopes and aims for the future of the town.
“We felt that getting local people involved in forming the right name and strapline was really important. It needs to not only represent existing groups working together, but also our future vision for Hednesford, making it a great place to live, work and visit.
“Building the right foundations for the group is very important – so we’re very excited about the next step of forming a committee, as it will help us shape our vision.
We’re really pleased that we’ve already had great support from Hednesford Town Council, Tesco, Cannock Chase AONB, as well as a number of local residents, independent traders and business owners”.
Ms Owen added that there is a great deal of enthusiasm around plans being discussed to improve the town, and hopes the membership will continue to grow as plans start to build momentum.
“We’ve discussed a number of schemes we’d like to get started on, and begun to put people’s names to projects they feel they can help with. To make progress, we now really need to find funding to get some of the smaller projects started.
“We’d really love to get local schools and young people involved too. The more input we can get from the local community, the better.
The next meeting of Hednesford in Partnership is on Thursday, November 20 at 6.30pm at The Soldiers Club on Anglesey Street, and is open to all Hednesford residents and business people who want to help make a difference in the town.
Carol Owen and Bev Yates (Chair of Hednesford Traders’ Assoc) will be talking more about Hednesford in Partnership on Cannock Radio next Tuesday (18) between 12noon-1pm.
