The free event is being co-hosted by the MP in partnership with the Big Lottery Fund and will be held between 10am-1pm on Friday 28th September at Lea Hall Miners Club in Rugeley.
Representatives from the Big Lottery Fund will be presenting on their current funding schemes, and running interactive workshops to help local groups develop their project ideas and provide hints and tips on how to strengthen future grant applications to them. There will also be the opportunity for one to one sessions for those groups who require further support.
Commenting Aidan said: “I often get local groups contacting me with excellent ideas about how they can improve the local community but are facing difficulties accessing support and funding to help make these ideas a reality.
“This event is my attempt to bring together those local groups and the Big Lottery Fund to hopefully secure many more funding grants for many of the worthwhile causes working across Cannock Chase”.
John Taylor, Head of West Midlands Region at the Big Lottery Fund said: “This event is a good opportunity for groups in Cannock Chase to come along and find out how to turn great ideas into fundable proposals. We are keen to encourage applications for projects that will bring real improvements to people and communities most in need – and will be giving advice on how best to apply for our flagship Reaching Communities programme as well as the small grants Awards for All programme.”
All interested groups who want to take advantage of this unique opportunity should contact Jodie Jones on 01543 502 447 or on email at email@example.com by no later than 5pm on Friday 21st September. Please note that places are strictly limited and applications will be on a first-come first-served basis.
