Cannock Chase Council is urging the public to have their say on a potential new housing development in Hednesford at a consultation event in the town.
Four events were held in the town last month to explain the potential development to the west of Pye Green Road and north of Limepit Lane.
Another event will now be held at Pye Green Community Centre between 4pm and 7pm on Wednesday 19th January when Council officers, along with the site’s developers, will be available to hear views and to provide further information.
Hednesford Town Council requested the extra consultation date after some of the events in December were hit by the bad weather.
The Council, as the local planning authority, is currently producing a Core Strategy which will set out the long-term planning policies to be used in promoting and controlling development throughout the District up to 2026.
One site – to the west of Pye Green Road and north of Limepit Lane in Hednesford – has been identified in the Core Strategy as suitable for 750 new houses, which would be supported by a new primary school, community facilities and open space.
A draft development brief has been created to guide potential development on the site from the outset. A consultation started on Wednesday 8th December and all views and comments received will influence future stages of the development brief.
