Heathlands House, on Bullen Close, is inviting people to revisit traditions from Christmas past by joining residents and team members on Tuesday 23rd December, 2pm – 4pm.
The event is part of Care UK’s ‘Step into Christmas’ initiative, which aims to rekindle customs that residents remember from their childhood by reliving them and sharing them with the local community.
On the day, visitors are invited to join residents in celebrating favourite Christmas traditions at a festive party, featuring vintage games such as Snakes and Ladders, Charades, Nip-Nose, and Musical Mayhem, along with live entertainment from Paul Hayward and traditional Christmas carols.
Guests will also be treated to seasonal treats and refreshments as they rekindle the magic of Christmases past.
Resident Olive Scotchford, age 94, said: "Ooh I love the music, it takes me back to my youth. I just wish I could get up and dance without my walker!"
Razvan Stanbeca, Home Manager at Heathlands House, said: “We’re thrilled to be hosting our Christmas fete that brings the golden era back to life.
“The residents here have been sharing memories of festive celebrations from their youth, and we can’t wait to recreate that magic with the wider community.
“From vintage decorations to classic carols and treats, it is set to be an event to remember, and we encourage the people of Cambridge to come along and party with us!”
