Just a small smile for a dull grey day

Among the family papers I inherited were some cartoons drawn by my uncle during WW1.  Some of them are military but this one has more general appeal, I think.

I am showing it here because I want to make a small appeal for people to go and see the Surrey Heath museum - we are very lucky to have it at all but it leads a perilous existence, tucked away in the council offices.  It was promised a permanent home so long ago that no-one can remember when!

Perhaps it is time for local residents to make something more of their past and especially all the wonderful items (including a small but interesting collection of paintings and drawings) that have been looked after so carefully....
