How To Get What You Want

Have you ever noticed that there are some people in life who seem to know exactly what they’re doing every day, what they are aiming for and what they need to do to get there? Some of you might have thought to yourselves ‘why can’t I be like that?’ Great news: you can. What successful people all have in common are their goals, which they keep in the front of their minds. On a day to day basis they never lose sight of what it is that they are striving for.

If you’re already in an MLM business, take a few moments to recall what it was that you wanted to achieve when you signed up. Perhaps you wanted to be able to work from home around your existing commitments, or you wanted to supplement your existing income. Perhaps you’ve made a promise to yourself to make a better life for your family: to earn a fortune; to be able to afford a bigger house; or simply to be able to afford life’s little luxuries.

You should set goals over different periods of time: some that you can achieve in 90 days, and long term goals. What do you want to improve your life three months from now? Where do you want to be in ten years’ time?

Of course, not all of our goals have to be possessions, or large wedges of cash, but visualization of what you want is a very powerful and essential part of goal-setting. In some cases it can be the difference between knowing, and actually achieving, what you want.

Imagine, for example, that you want to be able to buy the motorboat of your dreams. Close your eyes and picture yourself aboard, while the gentle swell of the ocean lifts you over the waves. You need to be able to smell the salt in the breeze, feel the wind whip through your hair, imagine seeing the diving platform at the back inviting you to plunge into the sea. You’ll see the mahogany dashboard, touch the cream upholstery interior, and hear the roar of the twin engines as you plane over the waves, the sun on your back as a seagull cries overhead…are you there yet?

It can also help to keep pictures of your goals near where you work, and to remind yourself of your purpose. It could be a photograph of your loved ones, or that dream house or car.  Make a commitment to reconnect with your purpose several times a day, and it will make you ever more determined to achieve your goals.
