Fantastic day at The Surrey Heath Show
7th May 2014
... Comments

The weather was extremely kind to us, considering the thunderstorms that had hit the area only a couple of days before and we were blessed with blue skies, and more importantly, minimal wind!

It was the first time I'd set up our new gazebo and the lovely roller banners we have are very much designed for indoor use only, so it was very lucky there was never any more than the lightest breeze.

The famous Bestmobile branded BMW was parked behind and attracted the usual favourable comments and attention.

Of course we had a wide variety of our members' promotional goodies available including calendars from Spear Travels, rulers from DesignPoint and Scubaprint and lots of car related stuff from Yateley MOT.

But the real star of the stand was undoubtedly the bottle of Veuve Cliquot generously donated by Knights Property Services to serve as the prize for a free prize draw open to all show visitors who left their names and email addresses.

Quite a few visitors also recommended their favourite local independent businesses, so we have some new businesses to make contact with in regard to possible membership of TheBestOf!

The outgoing Mayor of Surrey Heath, Beverley Harding also paid us a visit and even filled in a testimonial card too.

All in all it was a great event with plenty to keep us entertained, even without straying from our stand, with local dogs being entered into a variety of dog shows, the excellent local Youth Wind Orchestra belting out some classic Bond movie themes and stalls galore selling everything from home-made fudge to Asian arts and crafts.

The kids enjoyed it too with a miniature railway, a carousel and bouncy slides to keep them occupied between ice creams.

A thoroughly enjoyable day out engaging with the local community. If you came along, please leave a comment and if you didn't make sure you come next year!
