Duffy's Budgens Lightwater - Showcased in Telegraph Magazine

It's great when local businesses are recognised nationally and last Saturday in the Telegraph Magazine, Duffy's Budgens supermarket in Lightwater was showcased by Mary Portas (Queen of Shops) as part of her weekly examination of shops and businesses.

She was suitably impressed by what she saw and award the supermarket, a very credible 8/10 rating.

She praised Duffy's Budgens for their passion for fresh seasonal food and a desire to support small local producers. The Duffy family follow this ethos with the enthusiasm that they welcome local businesses to display their wares within the shop. George Arthur, Lightwater's quality independent butcher is well represented in the fresh meat display - even though they are just across the road.

Other local suppliers include Clara's Pepper Pots of Caribbean sauces, Alexandra Taylor cakes, Chapel Farm free-range eggs and beer from the famous Hogs Back Brewery.

The best of Camberley is intent on championing the local independant businesses and our latest campaign to BUY LOCAL window stickers is designed to encourage shoppers to use their local shops and businesses that are working hard to provide a personal service on your door step. Without this patronage, the National chains will grow their monopolies even faster and our villages such as Lightwater will be bereft of trade.
