The Best of Camberley recently sponsored a balloon in the Eagle Radio Great Balloon Race and we nominated our favourite local charity Christopher's Smile as the recipient of any prize money, if our balloon was the furthest reported find from the launch site in Woking

The furthest balloon reported was found in Canterbury in Kent, an impressive 76 miles (as the crow flies), and it turned out to be our balloon. I think the rest ended up in the English Channel!!

That meant our chosen cause, the local child cancer charity Christopher's Smile was awarded £2,596.33.

Eagle Radio Trust, which supports local causes, also received £2,596.33

Catherine Tunbridge from Aldershot was the lucky listener from the draw of people who backed our balloon and won herself £1,000.

Christopher's Smile still needs your help to fund a researcher at The Institute of Cancer Research to find new ways of treating Childhood Cancers. Please support this incredible charity to our local children in need.
