Working in collaboration to support "The People's Art"

The People's Art is a lasting reminder of all of the support given by the community; from local businesses, individuals and voluntary organisations from across the borough that have lent their hand in some way to provide a charity wall, otherwise known as The People's Art.

We are proud that two of our members have been involved in the project, GJ Plastics who provided the art itself, and Pixelwave Creative who created video of the launch and the story behind the art itself. Local artist E.Anthony Orme created the design whilst Graham
and his team at GJ Plastics. The inspiration behind the initial idea was Karan Lee.

The art sits in the Town Hall and looks incredible. Created in partnership with The Mayor's Charity committee and takes pride of place on the wall within the Town Hall.

The two pieces created by E.Anthony Orme encompass symbols from the town's six boroughs as well as six large shields, one representing each initial benefactor. Ribbons of colour flow high and are home to the shields which are engraved with the names of the contributing businesses.

The Mayor, Councillor Dorthy Gunther's chosen charities are Bury Hospice, Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary and the RNLI.
If you are interested in viewing the art or indeed are a business that would like to contribute to the wall by purchasing a shield, contact the Town Hall on 0161 253 5117
