There's so much going on in Bury this Bank Holiday weekend so we thought we'd share just a few great events with you.

Whatever your interest there's something for everyone on Saturday, Sunday and Monday so what are you waiting for? Get your diary out and take note!

So, what's on?

Saturday see's the start of the 1940's War Weekend in Ramsbottom and it's fun for all of the family. There are re-enactments, artists, lot's of individual events going on around the town including withing the church. Of course all of the lovely town's shops will be open for you to take advantage of a little bit of shopping too. There's a craft fair happening in Bury at The Fusilier Museum - perfect for the little ones to show their creative side as they can get involved in the activities. The grown ups will have the opportunity to buy some goodies too!
Dig out your 1940's attire or if you don't have any, why not consider hiring one of the many costumes available at Jackie's Fancy Dress so you can really get into the spirit of things!

Sunday see's the War Weekend continuing into day 2 with many activities at The East Lancashire Railway as well as being close up and seeing the fabulous steam trains, taking you back in time! There's also a car boot sale at the Bolton Street site for those of you who love to grab a bargain.
Enjoy walking? LGBT Ramblers host their first event on the 25th with a walk of approx 5 1/2 miles with a stop off at a local pub for refreshments (be rude not too!)
Back to Ramsbottom and there's more activity - our very own member Irwell Works Brewery has a great 1940's themed event happening with a sing-a-long to get you into the mood of the era as well as some fantastic ales and food! Once you've sampled a bite to eat and a beer or two why not find yourself the perfect item at Ramsbottom's Vintage Fayre, held in the Civic Hall?

For those of you into cycling, there's what sounds like a great event for you! A bicycle jumble sale where you can pick up some fantastic bargains with prices from £1 for parts and just £10 for bikes!

A spot of gardening on the agenda maybe? Couple a trip to Newbank Garden Centre for your plants and garden furniture with an opportunity to see the very popular birds of prey display that they are hosting on Sunday and Monday.

There's a family festival open to all in Summerseat with fairground rides, stalls and performances and at The Wellington on Bolton Rd, Bury there's a family fun day with a couple of visitors that the children will love!
If chilling out in a more traditional manner is your thing then Bands In The Park may be more up your street? Relax in St Mary's Flower Park whilst listening to a lovely brass band.

Monday see's day 3 of the 1940's War Weekend giving you one last opportunity to enjoy the fun!

Gosh, that is a lot but if you wish to look at more take a look here for our full list of events happening in your town.

Enjoy your bank holiday weekend and let's hope the sun continues to shine!
