Volunteers required for Bury Market / Shopping Habits survey!

Lisa Dirkin, Bury Town Centre Manager, is looking for volunteers /colleagues /friends (anyone really!) to take part in some focus group sessions /informal interviews to hear your views on why you shop in Bury Town Centre and in particular your views on 'Why you shop at Bury Markets'. She wants to explore the reasons that attract you to shop at Bury Market - is it the atmosphere, choice, product range, trip out etc?

Lisa would also want to hear from people who DO NOT shop at Bury Market and to explore some of the reasons why you choose NOT to visit or shop at Bury Market and hear your views on what, if anything, might make you shop at Bury Market in the future.

If you are around on any of these dates THIS WEEK and can spare a max of 1 hour of your time (possibly around you lunch break ) to take part in a focus group discussion (consists of c. 6-8 persons or possibly an interview), Lisa would be very grateful if you could get in touch as soon as possible, with your availability and a contact telephone number. Please indicate whether you are a Bury Market Shopper or NOT - as Lisa needs to hold separate groups/sessions for shoppers and non-shoppers of Bury Market.

Dates for focus groups are as follows:-

Fri 15th Jan, 11am-12 noon, Mill Gate Management Office
- For Bury Market Users

Fri 15th Jan, 1PM -2pm, Mill Gate Management Office
- For NON Bury market users

Fri 15th Jan, 2.30pm - 3.15pm, Mill Gate Management Office
- For NON Bury Market Users

Sat 16th Jan, 11.30am - 12.15pm, Mill Gate Management Office
- group type to be confirmed.

Sat 16th Jan, 1.30pm - 2.30pm, Mill Gate Management Office
- group type to be confirmed

Your help and views are really important to Lisa and the research/ results will remain anonymous. Results will be used as part of her Masters degree dissertation study in Place Management and also to help formulate an action plan for the future planning and improvements to Bury Market and the shopping offer in Bury town centre. As Town Centre Manager, town centre partners and stakeholders need to get a deeper insight into what really brings shoppers to Bury Town Centre, and what will keep them shopping here in the future, include those that work in the town centre.

Bury Market is an important part of Bury Town Centre. It is equally important to understand better why local people do not shop at Bury Market.
We need a mix of age groups, men, women and people from different backgrounds and status to take part.

Refreshments will be provided and goody bags given to participants.
