Forever Bury FC, who represent the supporters’ trust, Bury FC, and the town throughout the season playing other fans teams up and down the country and engendering a spirit of friendship that is rarely commented on in the media have once again done their bit for charity.

In their Annual Charity match that is held at Gigg Lane at the end of each season, thanks to the support of the club and all the soap stars that provided the opposition, they smashed all records in raising £3,300 that has seen three different charities benefit. Held on the early Bank Holiday Monday in May it was a fun packed day with record crowds down to watch the All stars, captained by Ralf Little, run out as victors and win the Warren Flood Memorial Trophy.

At the opening league game against Carlisle, half-time presentations of £1,100.00 were made to the three charities concerned. On hand to receive the cheques were Claire Warner for Bury Hospice, Fusilier Stewart Spensley for Help for Heroes and Georgia May Foote (who plays Katy Armstrong in Coronation Street) for the Coronation Street 50th Anniversary Appeal Charity. The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, Lancashire, were on hand to provide a Guard of Honour.

Both Dave Giffard (Forever Bury Chairman) and John Raftery (Forever Bury FC Chairman) were delighted to have helped the three charities with this years match and would like to thank everyone who played a part in making it such a success and adding to all the previous charitable work.

Over the past nine years Forever Bury have been working tirelessly to rebuild Bury FC as a friendly Community Club. There are now over 700 members and a small team out and about getting involved with local business, schools, clubs, charities, etc. To date they have raised over £12,000.00 for various charities and any charity is welcome to have a stall at the annual Family Fun Day held at Gigg Lane in July.
