Petrol / Diesel prices over the last few years have escalated out of all proportion and is now one of your highest weekly outgoings. So I will ask again how would you like the chance to save 15% on your annual fuel bills?

The average tank of fuel costs aprox £65 so that would be a saving of aprox £9.25 per week you could save, annualy thats just under £500, if you spend more then obviosuly you will save more.

At GDT we have fleet qualified driver trainers who can offer hints and tips on how to save these valuable pounds. Some of their tips can be found below.

Think about it !!! A simple 3 Hr session booked with one of our instructors could pay for itself in the ongoing savings you could make.

  1. Maintain a steady speed, heavy acceleration and harsh braking are the No 1 reason you will you use unnecessary fuel. An easy way to think of it is every time you press the acclerator unnecesseraly you could look in the rear view mirror and watch the pound coins rolling away.

  2. Take a look at your rev counter when changing gear ? If it is going over 2500, then once again you are wasting fuel ?

  3. Remove any unnecessary weight in your vehicle, its like carrying an overweight suitcase, you need more energy to carry it.

FACT Driving at 70mph uses up to 9% more fuel than at 60mph and up to 15% more than at 50mph. Cruising at 80mph can use up to 25% more fuel than at 70mph.

I like the simple things in life and really get annoyed when people make simple tasks look complicated. Hopefully this ethos is shown in our business...
