North Lancs Training Group, NLTG, is seeking companies who will join them in providing apprenticeships, including for their existing staff.
Apprenticeships combine practical training in a work environment with study which is beneficial to both the apprentice and their employer in developing work place skills, technical knowledge and hands-on experience.
An apprentice is required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week and be paid the minimum of £3.90 per hour by the employer, from April 1st this will increase to £4.15.
Businesses who agree to join the apprenticeship initiative would be eligible for a government grant of £1000 when recruiting 16 to 18 yrs. of age, or 19 to 24 on a care plan, the grant is paid in two stages firstly £500 after 90 days with a further payment of £500 after 366 days.
The leaner/apprentice must be enrolled onto a suitable apprenticeship that is relevant to their job role. NLTG offer a multitude of apprenticeships across all sectors of commerce and industry from which to select a ‘good fit’ for each candidate. They offer work place delivery with tutor visits every 4 to 6 weeks throughout the duration of learning.
Learners who are over 19 yrs. of age the employer would still receive funding for 95% and there would be 5% contribution from the employer, this may vary according to the qualification.
