Latest success at the bestofbury!
Last week we were pleasantly surprised when we had a call from ITV Granada Reports! They called us after seeing our posts about The World Black Pudding Throwing Championships in Ramsbottom, which we promoted on both our events page and our blog. It's great that such well known media organisations are finding events through local sources such as the bestofbury. We were very excited to see this event causing such a stir!
This really proves we go out of our way to be part of the community by championing local businesses, promoting local events and news and of course, discussing local issues on this blog. Local is what we are all about!
I personally think that the World Black Pudding Throwing Championships really encompass what Bury is about- having fun and preserving our traditions, which we are proud of. This event attracted people from all over the country and TV Stars Rory McGrath and Paddy McGuinness tried their hand as part of their Greater British Adventure. The trophy and cash prize was eventually won by Huseyin Osluk, who knocked down a whopping nine Yorkshire Puddings.
This event even got on to national television, family-owned Chadwicks Black Puddings had a well deserved appearance on This Morning!
