Ninety ladies from across the North West put on their best frocks, donned their finest hats and indulged themselves at the ‘The Spirit of Ascot Ladies Day’ on Thursday 16 June. The event was hosted by the stylish Bellini restaurant, Ramsbottom and raised £4,420 for the British Red Cross.
Guests were treated to a champagne reception on arrival followed by a delicious two-course Italian meal. Entertainment was provided by Michael Buble tribute act, Alex Christy, who brought the house down. After watching the races live from Ascot guests had the chance to bid for a range of exciting prizes including a luxury helicopter flight, hampers of ‘Hello Kitty’ toys courtesy of Sambro International, and a greetings card personally signed by actor, Colin Firth.
One lucky lady won a prize for the best hat and each guest left with a bag full of goodies including gorgeous nail varnishes donated by nsi.
Toni Kennedy, senior community fundraiser for the British Red Cross in Manchester said: “The event was a fantastic success and we were taken back by the support we received on the day and from local companies. We are very grateful to Teri and Dan Bacci for all their hard work and for hosting such a wonderful event at Bellini in Ramsbottom”
All money raised from the event will go directly to the Red Cross, helping people in crisis whoever and wherever they are – both across the world and around the corner.
