Two Big Lunch events are taking place in Bury at Topping Fold and Moorside Community Centres & Libraries in June to coincide with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The first event at Topping Fold is on Saturday, 2nd June 12-2.00 pm where there will be something for all the family and, in addition to fun things for children such as a bouncy castle, bingo, royalty themed quiz and face painting, there will be demonstrations for everyone to enjoy with a troupe of Morris dancers, army trucks and some farm animals.

Moorside Community Centre & Library will be having their Big Lunch event on 3rd June 12.00-3.00 pm and is the second one they've organised after the success of last years event. There will be entertainment by a group of local Morris Dancers The Dinatones and Kenny the DJ. There will also be a quiz, face painting and a prize to the child who makes the best crown and who will be King or Queen for the day.

Refreshments are available but you are welcome to bring your own picnic as the aim of the Big Lunch is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours in a simple act of community, friendship and fun.

For further details or if you would like to volunteer helping out or doing an activity on the day contact the Community Centres & Libraries - Moorside 0161 253 5201 or Topping Fold 0161 253 7890.
